Full job description

Part-time role between 9am-1pm Mon-Fri

We are looking for a motivated and organised Accounts & HR Assistant to support our Accounts Manager with the day-to-day administration of the company's accounts function, whilst also providing HR administrative support across the business.

This role is ideally suited to someone with previous accounts experience, strong attention to detail, and can confidently manage both financial and employee administration. Experience of Sage 50 Accounts is essential. You will play an important part in ensuring purchase and sales ledger activities are processed accurately and efficiently while assisting with a variety of accounting and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting the Accounts Manager with the daily administration of the accounts function
Processing purchase invoices and maintaining the purchase ledger
Raising sales invoices and maintaining the sales ledger
Reconciling supplier statements and customer accounts
Performing bank reconciliations
Assisting with credit control activities
Managing account queries from suppliers and customers
Processing petty cash receipts and maintaining the petty cash account

HR Administration Duties

Managing the administration of employee joiners and leavers
Maintaining accurate employee records and personnel files
Recording and monitoring employee absences, holidays and sickness records
Providing general HR administrative support to management as required

About You

The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Administrator or similar role
Good working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts
Experience of purchase ledger, sales ledger and account reconciliations
Previous HR administration experience would be advantageous
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to handle confidential information professionally
A proactive and adaptable approach to work
