Full job description

Are you looking for a Class 1 driving role that offers stability and variety? Would you like to put your HGV licence to work, whether you are newly qualified or highly experienced driver? Join us and see where this opportunity can take you.

Here at GXO Logistics Newark we are looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our transport team on night shift. You will be part of a crew that is with you every step of the journey, supporting you on the road and beyond.

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, contracted to 48 hours per week. We are currently recruiting for the following shift patterns:

5 on 3 off, with start time windows of 20:00 to 00:00
5 on 3 off, with start time windows of 00:00 to 04:00

What you will do on a typical day:

Deliver goods using single and double deck lorries to retail stores and customer premises nationwide, working efficiently to complete scheduled drops
Complete 2 to 3 deliveries per day, transporting both palletised and free standing goods
Safely unload goods upon arrival at each delivery destination with assistance provided for two-person lifts where required
Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time

What you need to succeed at GXO:

Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement
Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards
No more than 6 current penalty points
No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements
Previous experience driving category C+E vehicles is desirable
