Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. The position involves working with a range of tools and equipment, requiring technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify vehicle issues
Perform repairs and maintenance on motor vehicles, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
Repair or replace faulty components using welding techniques when necessary
Interpret technical drawings and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs
Assist in the assembly of vehicle parts during repair or refurbishment processes
Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure vehicles meet safety standards
Perform heavy lifting as required when handling large or heavy vehicle parts
Maintain detailed records of work performed for each vehicle serviced
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly

Requirements

Proven experience in automotive repair or a related field is preferred
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Experience with vehicle assembly and maintenance procedures
Ability to perform equipment repair and troubleshooting efficiently
Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems and mechanical components
Physical strength to undertake heavy lifting tasks safely
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
