Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a GRP Laminator, Body Shop Technician & Paint Sprayer. This multifaceted role involves working within our body shop to deliver high-quality repairs and refinishing services. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, body shop and grp knowledge. Experience with hand and power tools is a must. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills within a dynamic environment committed to high standards.
Duties
- Prepare and laminate GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester) Multi-Piece Molds, Components with precision and attention to detail.
- Conduct body repairs, including panel alignment, welding, panel beating, dent removal, and structural assessments.
- Operate paint sprayers to apply finishes, ensuring colour matching and surface quality meet company standards.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools safely for disassembly, assembly, sanding, and finishing tasks.
- Perform heavy lifting of parts and materials safely in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the repair process to uphold high standards of workmanship.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and optimise workflow.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a body shop, GRP and Lamination technician, paint sprayer, or similar role within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex repair procedures.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, chisels, and wrenches.
- Experience with power tools including sanders, grinders, and spray guns.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and standing for extended periods during shifts.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications or training in body repair, grp and or painting techniques are desirable but not essential. This role is integral to maintaining our reputation for quality repairs and finishes while offering ongoing opportunities for professional growth within our organisation.
Pay: £15.00-£25.00 per hour
