Full job description

Make a real difference every day by helping students overcome barriers and achieve their potential. As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with our Accelerated Learning Team to provide targeted support, build students’ confidence, and ensure they can fully engage in lessons. From delivering small‑group interventions to supporting students with SEMH, ADHD or ASD in the classroom, you’ll play a key part in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Contract Type: Permanent, thirty five hours per week, thirty nine weeks per year

The role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Work with individuals and small groups to develop key literacy, numeracy and language skills.
Provide in‑class support for pupils with SEMH, ADHD, ASD and other additional needs.
Help students regulate behaviour and re‑engage positively with learning through ALR and ALR Plus provision.
Create and adapt resources that meet the needs of individual learners.
Keep detailed records of interventions, progress, meetings and liaison with families or agencies.
Support SEND processes including referrals to CAMHS/OT, ADHD/ASC pathways, and SEND Register updates.
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and the SENCO to remove barriers to learning and promote inclusion.

A strong communicator with good organisational and interpersonal skills.
Able to explain tasks clearly and support students in breaking learning into manageable steps.
Positive, proactive and motivated to help every learner succeed.
Confident in building supportive relationships with students who may face challenges.
Willing to develop understanding of SEND, SEMH and intervention strategies.
Emotionally resilient when supporting pupils with complex needs.
Professional, reliable and committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
