Inwood Design has specialised in handcrafted cabinet making, bespoke furniture and handmade kitchens and bedrooms for many years now, and we are looking at expanding our team with increased contracts.
We are looking for a full time position Cabinet Maker to join our highly experienced team in Dorchester.
The successful candidate must have experience working in a wood workshop using bench tools and machinery.
The candidate must have the ability to work independently or as part of a team on a project working to a high standard and able to meet deadlines. The candidate must be able to follow drawings, have a good eye for detail and takes pride in their work.
A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
Good rates of pay based on candidates experience.
Overview

Responsibilities
- Fabricate custom cabinets and furniture according to detailed specifications and blueprints
- Assemble components using hand tools, power tools, and joinery techniques
- Operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently during production processes
- Measure, cut, shape, and finish wood materials with precision to ensure high-quality standards
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure designs meet expectations
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment
- Perform finishing tasks such as sanding, staining, or painting as required
- Assist with installation of cabinetry on-site when necessary
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during fabrication and assembly processes
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly,bespoke cabinetry or furniture making
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and joinery techniques
- Strong knowledge of carpentry principles including joinery methods and material properties
- Experience with roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical work or construction painting is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely and handle physically demanding tasks
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on craftsmanship quality
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in carpentry or related trades are desirable
