The Assistant Audiologist supports qualified Audiologists in delivering a high-quality audiology service. This role involves direct patient interaction during hearing aid repair clinics, providing first-line advice and support, and performing administrative tasks to ensure smooth service delivery.
This post is based at Audiology, Lyng Centre for Health and Social care, West Bromwich and is 32.25 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct hearing aid repair clinics independently, including earmould fittings, fault identification, repairs, and patient reinstruction.
Perform otoscopic examinations and escalate concerns to qualified staff.
Provide counselling on hearing aid use and promote effective hearing strategies.
Manage stock of hearing aids and consumables, including ordering, receiving, and distribution.
Process referrals, maintain waiting lists, and book appointments using Auditbase and NHS systems.
Handle patient queries via phone, email, and reception, ensuring empathetic and professional communication.
Support departmental audits, training, and cover duties as needed.
