About the Role

CY UK Ltd is a well-established international freight forwarder providing end-to-end logistics and e-commerce supply chain services.

We are seeking a proactive Freight Clerk to join our Birmingham operations team. The role involves supporting daily freight activities across ocean freight, air freight and e-commerce logistics, with a particular focus on pre-alerts, DELIVERY COORDINATING AND BOOKING and shipment documentation management.

Key Responsibilities

Handle daily freight forwarding operations, including bookings, pre-alerts and shipment coordination.
Input and maintain accurate warehouse and shipment data in internal systems.
Prepare delivery and collection notes, and other relevant documents.
Communicate with overseas agents, customers and suppliers in both English and Chinese.
Assist with preparing customer quotations and maintaining rate records.
Monitor shipments from warehouse to destination and provide regular status updates.
Support warehouse colleagues in maintaining accurate inbound and outbound data and ensuring smooth operational handovers.
Assist with general office duties, filing and recording maintenance.
Cooperate with team members to ensure the timely completion of daily operational tasks.

Requirements

Fluent in both English and Chinese, either Mandarin or Cantonese.
Applicants must have the legal right to work full-time in the UK.
Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Good attention to detail, time-management and multitasking skills.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
One to two years’ experience in freight forwarding or logistics is preferred, particularly in air freight import operations. However, training will be provided to suitable candidates.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, full-time and office-based at the warehouse site.
Occasional weekend availability may be required depending on operational workload.

Salary
£12.71–£14.00 per hour, depending on experience.
