About The Organisation

The Role

The post holder will carry continuing responsibility for the provision of effective leadership and expert clinical support to the midwifery/nursing staff within the Neonatal Unit in association with other Charge midwives/nurses.

Participate in the Senior charge Midwife/nurse role on a rotational basis. S/he will be involved in providing both individualised patient care and in planning, implementing and evaluating clinical care within all areas of the neonatal unit, ensuring compliance with NHS Lanarkshire’s policy and procedures and maintaining statutory requirements in accordance with the NMC. To provide safe, effective, person centred care

In this key role, you will:

Planning, assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating planned programmes of care/specialist care for ill and premature neonates in intensive care, high dependency and special care.
Being an advocate for women, neonates and their families
Provides a health education role for women their partners and extended families
Setting and maintaining standards of care

What You'll Bring:

Registered Midwife with valid NMC Registration
Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice
A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
