Overview

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Pub Supervisor to join our friendly team at our independent village country pub, whether you have previous experience, or a strong dedicated front of house team member ready for that next step.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys being part of a close-knit community and takes pride in delivering warm, personal service in a traditional country pub setting.

The Role

As Pub Supervisor, you’ll help assist in the day-to-day running of the pub, supporting the management team and hands on owners, leading the front-of-house team to ensure every guest receives a fantastic experience.

You’ll be confident taking responsibility for motivating and training the team and making sure the pub runs smoothly, while still being hands-on and happy to muck in wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities

Supervising the pub team during shifts and ensuring excellent customer service
Welcoming guests and creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere
Supporting the management team with the smooth running of the pub
Opening and closing the pub and completing relevant safety checks
Managing bookings, customer queries and day-to-day service
Training and assisting team members to excel in customer service
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service
Ensuring everything is set up and well presented ready prior to customer arrival
Handling cash and end-of-shift procedures
Ensuring licensing, health & safety and legal procedures are followed
Helping to maintain the character and welcoming atmosphere of our independent village pub

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

Has previous experience in a supervisory role or a strong team member ready for that next step in their career
Is confident leading and training a team
Has excellent customer service and communication skills
Is organised, reliable and able to remain calm during busy services
Takes pride in their work and has a genuine passion for hospitality
Is friendly, approachable and enjoys getting to know regular customers
Is happy to be hands-on and lead by example
Has flexibility to work evenings, weekends and busy periods

Hospitality qualifications and personal licence experience are desirable but not essential. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone that is very hands on, likes to be in and amongst the buzz of service (this is not an office based job), someone with the right attitude and a genuine passion for making our pub a great place to visit for our locals as well as new customers.
