Food Technician – SEMH School – West Drayton
West Drayton, London

Pay: Competitive Daily Rate
Type: Monday to Friday | Term Time Only | September Start | Temp-to-Perm

We are currently recruiting a Food Technician to join a specialist SEMH school in West Drayton from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support the Food Technology department within a specialist school environment, helping to prepare practical lessons, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe, organised learning space. You'll work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs during practical food technology sessions, helping to create a positive and engaging learning experience.

The role will include:

Preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food technology lessons
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe food preparation area
Managing stock levels and ordering ingredients and supplies as required
Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH regulations
Cleaning, maintaining, and checking kitchen equipment
Supporting teachers and pupils during practical lessons where appropriate
Helping to create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience working in a food technology department, commercial kitchen, catering, or a similar environment
Good knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety practices
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A calm, patient, and flexible approach
A genuine interest in supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs

Training and ongoing support will be provided.
