About the Post:
Are you passionate about helping people live independently with greater choice and control over their lives? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Personalisation Officer to join our team to support people to set up and manage their direct payment.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our supportive team where your work will have a genuine impact every day. You will be part of a service that values person-centred practice, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while giving you the chance to develop specialist knowledge in direct payments, personalised support, and community-based care. If you are looking for a role that offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a positive difference, we would love to hear from you.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, person-centred, and committed to delivering high-quality support that enables people to live the lives they choose.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will support people with a wide range of care and support needs to set up their direct payment, including older people, people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and disabled children. You will work closely with individuals and their families to help them access the right support to achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
You will play a key role in identifying services and solutions that meet assessed needs in a way that promotes independence, wellbeing, and informed choice through setting up direct payments effectively, empowering them to take control of their own budgets and the services they receive.
A key part of the role is costing care packages accurately and ensuring that allocated budgets are sufficient to meet agreed support arrangements.
You will work with Personal Assistants across Barnsley to promote the role and encourage more people to consider this rewarding career path, you may also support with adverts and recruitment for these.
This role involves both joint visits with social care teams and lone working across the borough, so you will need to be confident working independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues and partner services.
We have strong working relationships with colleagues across adult social care and children's social care, including commissioning. This joint working makes a real difference to outcomes for people.
