About the role
We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Maintenance Assistant. You would be based at out Kingston upon Thames site. You may need to cover other sites if business needs require. The ideal person for this role needs to be a team player, happy to promote drive and support the team to maintain an excellent residential experience to achieve 100% occupancy and retention goals.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
· Provide Handyman services to the students such as changing lightbulbs, painting / re decoration, basic plumbing, General repairs.
· Manage any General repairs onsite such as Communal spaces / stairwells / corridors / Fire Doors.
· Day to day contractor management such as escorting any contractors and ensuring all relevant paperwork is received.
· Health and Safety tasks such as Weekly Fire Alarm testing, Emergency Lighting testing, Legionella testing including temperature checks and weekly flushing of outlets.
· Add / Close Maintenance tasks into the Housing Management system and run daily reports.
· Work with the General Manager and the Building Manager to ensure compliance with Health and Safety Requirements.
· Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers always.
· Providing excellent customer service to Residents & other stakeholders
· Be available out of hours when needed to deal with emergencies.
· Always be a team player.

Job Types:
· Part-time: Permanent
· Salary: £13,218.40 gross per annum
· Work Schedule: 20 hours 10:00-14:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
You may be required to work longer hours and at weekends during the summer and during busy check in and check out periods.
Skills:
· Experience in Maintenance: 3 years (required)
· Excellent Communication skills
· Keen to grow and develop a career in the Student Accommodations Market
About You:
· Good level of general education.
· A knowledge and understanding of UK Health and Safety requirements and
· legislation.
· Excellent customer service skills and significant experience in a customer facing roles.
· Good team player with strong relationship building and influencing skills.
· Ability to act autonomously, taking decisions and/or action when required.
· Excellent organisation skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
· Numerical skills necessary to complete the above activities.
· Flexible approach to work and adaptable to thrive in a changing environment.
· Enthusiasm to deliver an exceptional experience and continuously improve knowledge of self and others.
