The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Solar Electrician to join our delivery team and lead the electrical installation of residential Solar PV systems across the South East of England.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is confident running installations on-site, managing electricians and subcontractors, and maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards.

You’ll be responsible for delivering domestic Solar PV installations from first fix through to commissioning, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to industry standards.

Experience with battery storage, EV charging and domestic electrical systems is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage Solar PV installation teams on residential projects.
Install, test, commission and certify Solar PV systems and associated electrical works.
Carry out electrical connections, consumer unit works, isolators and system testing.
Complete installation and commissioning documentation accurately.
Ensure all work complies with BS 7671, MCS requirements and REFYT quality standards.
Coordinate with surveyors, project managers and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery.
Carry out site inspections, quality checks and toolbox talks.
Support and mentor junior electricians and installers.
Troubleshoot electrical faults and resolve issues efficiently.
Maintain excellent customer experience on occupied residential properties.

Experience & Skills

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a qualified Electrician.
Proven experience delivering domestic Solar PV installations.
Experience leading teams or supervising installations.
Strong understanding of domestic electrical systems and testing procedures.
Experience with battery storage systems .
Experience with EV charging installations (desirable).
Comfortable working nationwide and managing varied site conditions.
Strong communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

Essential:

NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

MCS Solar PV Certification experience
Solar PV installation qualifications
ECS Gold Card
Battery Storage experience
IPAF / PASMA
