Full job description

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Commercial Property department.
The successful candidate will support the team across a broad range of commercial property matters, including acquisitions, disposals, refinances, leases and development work. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with previous commercial property experience to develop their technical knowledge and gain exposure to a varied and high-quality caseload.

Requirements:
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing initial drafts of commercial property contracts, agreements and ancillary transaction documents. They will assist with the review, negotiation and progression of commercial property documentation under the supervision of senior lawyers, as well as undertake legal research and provide practical support on a range of commercial property transactions.

The role will involve regular liaison with clients, agents, other solicitors and third parties, including providing transaction updates and acting as an initial point of contact for enquiries. The successful candidate will also assist with the management of commercial property portfolios and support the preparation of initial drafts of replies to Commercial Property Standard Enquiries and client reports.

In addition, the Paralegal will support senior lawyers with the review, amendment and finalisation of transaction documents, CPSE replies and reports. They will assist with file management, transaction administration and the maintenance of accurate records. The role may also involve attending client meetings where required and assisting with the development and maintenance of client relationships.
All work must be undertaken in accordance with the firm’s procedures, professional standards and client care requirements.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, ideally including a law degree, LLB or equivalent, or relevant practical legal experience. Previous experience within commercial property law is essential.

The candidate should have a good understanding of commercial property transactions, including sales, purchases, leases, refinances and related documentation. They must demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively, together with a proven ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work are essential. The successful candidate will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and third parties.
The role requires a professional and client-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering exemplary client care.

The successful candidate should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and must demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude, including the ability to respond appropriately to unexpected demands and prioritise work under pressure.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Experience using legal case management systems would be advantageous, as would familiarity with Land Registry procedures, SDLT submissions and property search platforms. Experience assisting with reports on title, reports on lease and post-completion matters would also be beneficial.

This role would suit a candidate who has a genuine interest in developing a long-term career in commercial property law.
