Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analysing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven solutions to optimise organisational efficiency. This paid role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise advanced analytical tools, and contribute to strategic decision-making within the organisation. The successful applicant will possess strong technical expertise, exceptional analysis skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.

Responsibilities

Gather and document business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and data analysis.
Analyse existing business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Develop detailed reports and visualisations using tools such as Tableau and Power BI to support decision-making.
Design and maintain databases, ensuring optimal structure and performance using Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and other database management systems.
Collaborate with project teams to support the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, development, testing, and deployment phases.
Utilise programming languages such as R, Python, VBA, and Bash (Unix shell) for data extraction, transformation, and analysis tasks.
Create process diagrams and documentation using Visio to clearly communicate workflows and system architectures.
Support project management activities by tracking progress, managing timelines, and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards.
Conduct comprehensive data analysis to uncover insights that inform strategic initiatives.

Skills

Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
Strong knowledge of SQL for querying databases effectively.
Experience with database design principles and optimisation techniques.
Familiarity with SDLC methodologies for managing software projects.
Programming skills in R, Python, VBA, and Bash (Unix shell).
Hands-on experience with Oracle databases and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Excellent business analysis capabilities with a focus on process improvement.
Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights.
Competence in creating detailed documentation using Visio or similar diagramming tools.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This role offers an engaging environment for professionals passionate about leveraging data analytics to drive business success while developing their technical expertise within a collaborative team setting.

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
