Mechanical / CMM Inspector

Address: Three Legged Cross, Wimborne, Dorset
Company: BIS Valves Ltd
Hours: Full-time, 39 hours per week (Mon–Fri)
Salary: Competitive + pension + death-in-service benefit

About the Role

BIS Valves Ltd is a leading manufacturer of high-performance valves used in demanding industrial and subsea applications. We are seeking a Mechanical Inspector and CMM Programmer to join our Quality team and support our commitment to high standards of quality and precision.

Key Responsibilities

Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of mechanical parts.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances
Program and operating CMM equipment.
Use precision measuring equipment including verniers, micrometres, bore gauges and height gauges.
Calibrate and maintain in-house measuring equipment
Identify, record, and report non-conformances in line with quality procedures
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions
Maintain accurate inspection records and reports
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and company quality standards
Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to support continuous improvement

About You

Proven experience as a Mechanical Inspector
Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
Experienced in programming and operating CMM
Hands-on experience using precision measuring tools
Good understanding of machining and assembly processes
Knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001 experience preferred)
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
