Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth operation that meets high standards of hygiene and efficiency. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a busy restaurant, with potential for career development within the hospitality sector.

Duties

Assist with food preparation
Ensure all kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and equipment are cleaned and properly stored
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas in accordance with health and safety regulations
Support the kitchen team during service periods by ensuring supplies are stocked and ready for use
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
Help with organising deliveries and stock rotation as required
Follow all hygiene standards diligently to uphold food safety regulations

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations is desirable
Familiarity with health and safety standards within a culinary setting is beneficial
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn new skills within the culinary and hospitality industry
A positive attitude and good communication skills
