Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Carpet Fitter/Floor Layer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing a variety of flooring materials, including carpets, vinyl, and other floor coverings, ensuring precise and professional finishes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential homes to commercial spaces, delivering high-quality results that enhance interior environments. Responsibilities
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and install various flooring products according to project specifications
- Prepare surfaces by performing tasks as needed before flooring installation
- Lay carpets, vinyl, laminate, or other flooring materials with attention to detail for seamless finishes
- Ensure all installations meet safety standards and quality expectations while maintaining a clean work environment
- Collaborate with team members and clients to address specific requirements or adjustments during the installation process
Skills
- Proven construction experience with a focus on flooring installation or related trades
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as knives, trowels, hammers, and measuring tapes
- Some carpentry skills for preparing subfloors and fitting materials accurately
- Experience with surface preparation for levelling compounds is a plus
- Competence in operating power tools safely and efficiently during installation tasks
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong problem-solving abilities
