Are you a Warehouse Manager who enjoys solving problems, improving systems and creating order where a business has outgrown its existing processes?
We’re exclusively partnering with a successful and expanding specialist business that needs an experienced warehouse professional to take senior ownership of its warehouse operation.
The day-to-day operation is established, but continued growth has created a need for stronger processes, better use of systems and tighter inventory control. You’ll work closely with an experienced hands-on warehouse colleague while providing senior direction across stock, systems, space, logistics and continuous improvement.
This is a highly visible role where you’ll have the freedom to investigate what isn’t working, introduce practical solutions and shape an operation capable of supporting the company’s future growth.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Taking senior ownership of warehouse performance, stock accuracy and process improvement
- Investigating inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing lasting corrective actions
- Improving the use of the company’s WMS and wider ERP system
- Designing and managing an effective cycle-counting programme
- Reviewing warehouse layout, bin locations, zoning and use of available space
- Improving stock replenishment, movements, adjustments and intercompany transfers
- Strengthening the control of batch, lot-numbered and expiry-dated stock
- Creating clear, practical SOPs and ensuring processes are consistently followed
- Improving logistics, transport, courier and freight arrangements
- Reviewing commercial invoicing and documentation connected with international shipments
- Introducing meaningful KPIs, reporting and operational controls
- Supporting, coaching and sharing knowledge with colleagues across the warehouse
- Working closely with senior leadership and other departments to resolve wider operational issues
- Helping develop a scalable warehouse function that can support continued business growth
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
This role needs someone who can combine senior-level thinking with a practical, hands-on approach. You’ll be comfortable analysing data and designing better processes, but equally willing to get into the warehouse, speak with the team and understand what is happening on the ground.
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong warehouse, inventory or stock-control management experience
- A proven record of improving stock accuracy and warehouse processes
- Experience investigating complex stock discrepancies and process failures
- Good working knowledge of WMS and ERP systems
- Experience improving bin structures, warehouse layouts and space utilisation
- Strong knowledge of cycle counts, stock movements and inventory controls
- Experience writing and implementing SOPs
- Confidence using Excel, operational data and KPIs to guide decisions
- The credibility and emotional intelligence to introduce change while building positive working relationships
- A practical, sleeves-rolled-up management style
- Experience within a high-SKU, technical, regulated or specialist-product environment would be particularly useful
NetSuite experience would be advantageous but isn’t essential. Experience of multi-site stock, lot-numbered products, international logistics, kitting or assembly work orders would also be valuable.
WHY CONSIDER THIS OPPORTUNITY?
- Take genuine ownership of a business-critical warehouse function
- Make visible improvements rather than simply maintaining an existing operation
- Work directly with an engaged senior leadership team that wants fresh ideas
- Join a stable, successful business experiencing continued growth
- Shape the systems, processes and structure around your expertise
- Work with an established colleague who already understands the practical operation
- Opportunity to influence the future development of the warehouse and wider business
- Discretionary monthly bonus of up to £575 following successful completion of probation
