Livestock Canvasser
Aberdeen and Northern Marts is one of Scotland’s leading and most progressive auction companies. Further to continued successful sales and our drive to serve our members ANM Group are looking to appoint a Livestock Canvasser to join their busy livestock division at Thainstone Mart, Inverurie.
The Role
This is a customer focused, field-based role within Aberdeenshire and involves remote working coupled with regular attendance at Thainstone Centre during busy sale days.
Reporting to the Canvassing & Operations Manager you will be responsible for the canvassing & procurement of livestock throughout a designated area, actively visiting existing customers, identifying new opportunities and developing a strong customer network.
Other Duties
Promoting ANM, the cooperative model & member benefits.
Responsible for the selection of livestock on farms to market to various store, breeding or prime sales. Offering practical & technical support to customers regarding when & how to market stock.
Keeping up to date with current market trends & trade (supported by our auctioneering team).
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience OR an interest in the livestock industry.
- Ideally someone from an agricultural background but not necessarily working in the industry currently.
- Self-motivated person who is keen to work remotely & as part of a team.
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
- Basic IT proficiency.
- A full driving licence & willingness to travel extensively in your canvassing area.
- A degree of flexibility is required with working hours to suit seasonal & sale requirements.
