Full job description

Grampian Accounting is a family run Business with a conscientious, friendly team that have all worked together with service up to 20 years. We now wish to replace one of our Bookeepers that is retiring after 15 years service.

This role is for a bookkeeper to work within a small team that perform the Bookkeeping and Payroll functions of the Business for multiple clients. They ensure all processing of client basic financial data is completed to a high standard and according to the relevant deadlines. They ensure all reconciliations for Bank, Purchase and Sales Ledger are complete, VAT reviewed and Lodged and bookkeeping complete up to Trial Balance stage for Accounts to be prepared.

The duties on the payroll side will include the administrative elements of maintaining the payroll software for clients and training will be given to assist in the preparation of payrolls, publishing to clients and the relevant filings at HMRC.

It would be preferable if the successful candidate had experience in Excel cashbooks. Plus preferably experience in Accounting Cloud packages, such as QuickBooks, SAGE and Xero. However, training can be provided.

The candidate is expected to have good organisational skills, be meticulous, numerate and be able to communicate effectively with clients and fellow team members.

The successful candidate should have Bookkeeping skills and knowledge, and preferably have worked in a professional office environment.
