POSITION SUMMARY
As Head Host at 74 Duke, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and play a key role in setting the tone for their experience. Reporting to the Reception Manager, you will support the host team, manage reservations and the flow of the restaurant, and ensure every guest receives a warm, professional, and seamless welcome.
We are looking for someone with natural confidence, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for hospitality. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, calm under pressure, and able to balance guest experience with operational efficiency in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome guests warmly and professionally, ensuring every guest feels valued from the moment they arrive.

Lead and support the host team, ensuring service standards are consistently maintained.

Manage bookings, reservations, guest notes, and table allocations using the reservation system.

Oversee the flow of the restaurant, coordinating with managers and floor teams to maximise efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Handle guest enquiries, special requests, and any issues with confidence, discretion, and professionalism.

Maintain an organised and polished reception area at all times.

Communicate clearly with the kitchen, bar, floor, and management teams to ensure smooth service.

Support with VIP guests, regulars, and special occasions, ensuring details are communicated effectively.

Assist with training and developing host team members.

Uphold all health, safety, and licensing regulations.

Contribute positively to team dynamics and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant.
KEY REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience as a Head Host, Senior Host, Reception Manager, or similar role in a high-volume, quality-driven venue.

Experience using reservation systems.
