Job Description
This Senior Product Manager role sits within Visa Direct’s Currencycloud product, focused on building the infrastructure that powers how money moves globally. You’ll help businesses send, receive and manage funds across borders quickly, cheaply, and with full transparency and control. Money movement sits at the heart of how businesses and consumers operate, so the work you do here has real, measurable impact.
Rather than sitting inside a single engineering squad, you’ll lead cross-functional and cross-team initiatives across the Payments & Collections tribe. You’ll own a significant product problem space and bring together multiple teams and stakeholders to deliver against that strategy. You’ll work closely with engineering, commercial, operations, marketing and other partners to align on priorities and ensure we’re solving the most important problems.
You’ll support the Group Product Manager and Product Director in shaping the long-term product strategy for the tribe, and help translate that strategy into clear bets, roadmaps and outcomes. You’ll also play a key role in coaching and mentoring Product Managers in the group, helping them sharpen their thinking, execution and impact.
This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, deep market and customer understanding, and strong leadership. We’re looking for people with high agency who can create clarity from ambiguity, influence across teams and functions, and raise the bar for how we build and scale products. This role reports to a Product Director or Senior Director.
Responsibilities:
Strategy and Vision:
-
Support the Group Product Manager or Director in the development and communication of a product strategy for the tribe that aligns with the company’s long-term vision and business goals.
-
Lead deep market, customer, competitor and technology analysis to identify opportunities, risks and strategic bets.
-
Build alignment and help secure buy-in for the product strategy from colleagues, stakeholders, and executive leadership and where required, clearly present trade-offs on behalf of teams/the wider tribe.
- Support the Group Product Manager or Director in working with tribe PMs to guide translation of strategic goals into actionable product backlogs, prioritizing features based on customer, commercial, and strategic value.
Discovery:
-
Act as the accountable product lead on large cross functional discovery initiatives & projects.
-
Run discovery with clients and internal users to uncover real problems, unmet needs and opportunities that cut across teams.
-
Engage with customers and colleagues to ideate new features and products to be developed.
-
Raise the bar for discovery across the tribe by sharing best practices, coaching PMs, and helping teams use data and customer insight to separate signal from noise.
Delivery:
-
Oversee and support with end-to-end product development of critical releases by tribe PMs, including planning, execution, and launch.
-
Lead large, complex cross-functional programmes of work across multiple teams, ensuring clarity on ownership, dependencies and outcomes.
-
Work with engineering and delivery leaders to keep cross-team initiatives moving at pace, unblocking issues and adjusting plans when needed.
-
Support the Group Product Manager or Director in ensuring a high performance of the tribe PMs and timely delivery against the strategic roadmap.
Adoption:
-
Partner with Product Marketing and GTM teams on go-to-market strategy, positioning and launch for major initiatives.
-
Drive adoption and usage across regions, segments and use cases, not just successful launches.
-
Define and track key metrics for your problem space, and use data, customer feedback and commercial insight to decide what to improve, scale or stop.
-
Communicate product performance and impact clearly to stakeholders, connecting outcomes back to the strategy and roadmap.
Leadership and collaboration:
-
Create clarity and alignment across multiple teams and functions, especially when leading cross-tribe initiatives.
-
Build strong relationships with stakeholders, advocating for product initiatives and securing necessary resources to deliver them.
-
Coach and mentor Product Managers in the tribe, helping them sharpen their discovery, prioritisation and delivery skills.
-
Help shape and evolve how the tribe works: ways of working, rituals and standards for product craft.
What Success Looks Like:
-
A clear, well-understood strategy and roadmap for your problem space, with stakeholders and the tribe aligned on where you are heading.
-
Cross-team initiatives delivered on time and to a high standard, with measurable impact for customers and the business.
-
Product areas under your remit gaining adoption, performing well, and improving over time.
-
PMs in the tribe growing in confidence, capability and impact, with you seen as a trusted partner and thought leader.
-
Effective cross-functional collaboration leading to timely and high-quality product releases and alignment among stakeholders and the tribe itself.
-
Demonstrated leadership in driving strategic initiatives and managing stakeholder relationships.
