Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Shipping and Receiving experienced Clerk to join our logistics team. This role involves managing the efficient movement of goods, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining accurate records. The successful candidate will play a vital part in supporting our supply chain operations, working closely with various departments to facilitate smooth shipping and receipt processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong understanding of logistics systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Duties
- Coordinate the shipment and receipt of goods using transportation management systems (TMS) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) platforms
- Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and compliance reports in accordance with FDA regulations
- Manage inventory levels through data entry and update records accurately within AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Liaise with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of materials
- Utilise Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track customer orders and provide updates on shipment status
- Negotiate shipping rates and delivery schedules with carriers to optimise costs and efficiency
- Support supply chain activities by assisting with lead generation, sales management, and B2B sales processes as needed
- Maintain organised storage areas for incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring safety standards are upheld
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to shipments or inventory
Requirements
- Proven experience with transportation management systems (TMS), EDI, AS400, and CRM software
- Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and B2B sales processes
- Knowledge of FDA regulations relevant to shipping documentation and compliance standards
- Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail for data entry and record keeping
- Effective negotiation skills for liaising with carriers and suppliers
- Ability to work independently whilst also collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Prior experience in logistics or warehouse operations is desirable but not essential
- Proficiency in using 3PL platforms and familiarity with lead generation tools will be advantageous
