Senior Sign Maker / Sign Installer
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced signage person to work within our production department, helping to manufacture and install a wide range of signs & occasional play equipment (training given) as part of our team.
This is a hands-on role for someone with good signage experience who can work independently, organise their own jobs properly, and take responsibility for making sure the work they are involved in is completed to a high standard.
The right person will be practical, reliable, calm under pressure, and able to communicate clearly with the rest of the team.
Experience in the signage industry is essential.
Essential requirements
- Previous signage industry experience
- Experience manufacturing and installing signage
- Able to organise your own work and the jobs you are involved in
- Able to read job sheets, drawings, proofs and production notes accurately
- Good understanding of common sign materials and installation methods
- Good attention to detail
- Able to work on your own or as part of a team
- Self-motivated and reliable
- Calm, practical and professional manner
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable driving vans up to 3.5T
Desirable experience
- IPAF qualification
- CSCS card
- PASMA qualification
- Experience with vinyl application, flat cut lettering, post and panel signs, folded trays, ACM, acrylic and general sign installation
- Experience using or working around CNC cutting tables, vinyl plotters, laminators and large-format printers
- Experience preparing installation kits, tools, fixings and materials before leaving for site
- Experience liaising with customers on site
Who are we?
Signet Signs Ltd is a family-run signage company with over 50 years’ experience. We are based in Clevedon, just two minutes from Junction 20 of the M5, with free on-site parking outside our premises.
We manufacture a wide range of signage in-house and work with customers across Bristol, the South West and the wider UK. Our work includes commercial signage, school signs, honours boards, post and panel signs, vinyl graphics, flat cut lettering, folded tray signs, wayfinding signs and more.
We have a friendly team, extensive manufacturing equipment, and a clean, spacious working environment.
What does the role involve?
The role involves working within our production team to manufacture and install signage.
Duties will include:
- Manufacturing a wide variety of signage in our workshop
- Installing signs and graphics at customer premises
- Reading and following job sheets, proofs and production notes
- Preparing materials, tools and fixings for the jobs you are working on
- Checking that jobs are ready before leaving for site
- Helping load and unload company vehicles
- Driving company vans to and from site
- Communicating professionally with customers during installations
- Raising questions or issues early if something is unclear
- Keeping the team informed about progress on your jobs
- Helping maintain a clean, organised and safe working area
- Carrying out work carefully and to a high standard
- Supporting other members of the production team when required

Hours
- Full-time position
- 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am to 4:30pm
- Overtime may be available when required (paid at time and a half).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
