Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Window Fitter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing windows in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of various construction techniques and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The position offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a wide range of skills within the construction industry, contributing to high-quality project delivery.

Duties

Measure and mark window openings accurately to ensure proper fitment.
Install new windows, ensuring they are securely fixed and sealed to prevent drafts and water ingress.
Remove old or damaged windows carefully, minimising damage to surrounding structures.
Use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, and specialised power tools for precise fitting.
Apply appropriate sealing materials and finishes to ensure durability and weather resistance.
Collaborate with other tradespeople such as roofers, plumbers, electricians, and masons on site.
Follow health and safety regulations diligently during all phases of installation work.
Assist with site preparation and clean-up post-installation to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

Proven experience in window fitting or related construction roles such as carpentry or masonry.
Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, plastering, fabrication, construction painting, and schematics is advantageous.
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction settings.
Strong understanding of construction drawings and schematics for accurate installation.
Ability to interpret technical instructions and work from detailed plans.
Physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights safely.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Valid UK driving licence is essential for site travel purposes. This role offers a dynamic working environment where craftsmanship and safety are paramount.
