Full job description

Roper Rhodes are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic graduate to join its Planning Department as a Graduate Demand & Supply Chain Planner. The role will include formal training in the use of the Slim4 planning system and SAP transactional ERP, as well as exposure to global supply chains and the wider business functions. The role includes a significant amount of model analysis and will require a good understanding of mathematics. The successful candidate will be required to liaise with the wider business and therefore excellent communication skills are a pre-requisite for this role.

Key responsibilities

Forecast management within Slim4, supporting the creation and continuous improvement of demand forecasts using business data and trends.
Global supplier management, including regular communication with allocated suppliers to support inventory targets, service levels, and cost objectives.
Review and management of purchase order recommendations within Slim4, making commercial judgements to optimise container utilisation, minimum order quantities, product availability and inventory levels for your assigned suppliers.
Purchase order management across Slim4 and SAP, including creation, maintenance, and updating of order schedules in line with supplier commitments, variance in sea freight schedules and product availability.
Coordinating container bookings, overseeing the loading of goods in China, and managing both direct-to-customer shipments and deliveries to the Roper Rhodes distribution centre for assigned suppliers.
Creation and analysis of daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track performance and support decision-making.
KPI management, monitoring key supply chain metrics such as service levels, stock availability, and supplier performance.
Root cause analysis of supply chain issues, including supplier non-compliance or delivery delays, with support in implementing corrective actions.
First-line problem resolution for supplier and logistics issues, escalating where necessary to ensure continuity of supply.
Collaborating with internal teams to align supply chain plans and respond to business requirements.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain processes, efficiency, and system utilisation.

Key Skills

Analytical, with the ability to interpret data, strong attention to detail, and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Strong communication skills, including confidence using the phone, writing professional emails, and representing the business with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Organised and proactive, with effective time management, problem-solving ability, and adaptability to changing priorities.
Ability to quickly develop proficiency in SAP ERP and Slim4 systems (no prior experience required).
Curious about global supply chains and how they operate.

Salary: £30k per annum + benefits
