Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pipe Layer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying underground pipes, preparing sites, and assisting with various groundworks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in a dynamic environment, contributing to infrastructure projects that require precision and safety awareness. The position involves working on-site with a focus on efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety standards. Confined Space is required along with a CSCS card. CPCS or NPORS are also desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lay underground pipes according to project specifications and technical drawings
- Excavate trenches using temporary works.
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing and levelling ground surface
- Handle hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and securing materials
- Conduct basic maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure operational safety
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to minimise risks on site
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in pipe laying and groundworks within the construction industry
- Knowledge of excavation techniques and site preparation procedures
- Mechanical knowledge, including familiarity with hand tools, power tools, pipe lasers etc.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to construction sites
- Physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour in various weather condition
