The Ian Mosey Group are a family owned and operated business consisting of three companies, the parent company Ian Mosey Ltd, and two subsidiary companies Ian Mosey (Livestock) Ltd and Ian Mosey (Feed) Ltd. Ian Mosey (Livestock) Ltd principal activity is breeding and finishing pigs for the UK pork industry. Ian Mosey (Feed) Ltd manufacture and supply pig, poultry, cattle, sheep and game compound feed to both external customers and to our internal B&B farm base.
About The Role:
We are excited to announce an opportunity for graduates passionate about agriculture. Our Graduate Scheme is designed to kickstart your career and equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to become a future leader in the agricultural industry.
The two year programme offers in-depth exposure across multiple departments within Ian Mosey (Livestock) Ltd. You will experience the full spectrum of the pig supply chain – from breeding to finish, gaining insight into key areas such as planning, compliance, administration, and farm operations. The programme is designed to provide diverse and hands-on experience, ensuring you develop a well-rounded understanding of the business and its operations.
At the end of the programme, successful candidates will have the opportunity to specialise in a field that best aligns with their career goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain – Planning & Transport: Gain a thorough understanding of the pig finishing operation, assisting with planning stock movements, coordinating internal pig movements and supporting transport logistics.
- Compliance: Support the compliance team in managing audits for various assurance schemes (Red Tractor, RSPCA assured, supermarket-specific schemes). Assist with audit planning, preparation, and liaising with farmers to ensure compliance standards are met. Shadow veterinarians during routine farm visits to ensure optimal animal health and welfare.
- Office Administration / Business Support: Whilst working with our Office Administration function you will be assisting with administrative tasks that support various teams within the business. This will give you exposure to our Finance team, Human Resources and Health and Safety teams, Business Support team and further exposure to the supply chain and compliance teams.
- Breeding Herds: The aim of the placement on the breeding herds is to develop a thorough understanding of the production cycle and enhance your knowledge of pig husbandry including pig health, welfare, housing, cleanliness and feed utilization. You will also have exposure to herd performance through the gathering and analysis of performance data and feeding back into the relevant teams.
What We Are Looking For:
- A recent graduate (or graduating soon) with a degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- A passion for the agriculture industry and a keen interest in animal husbandry and livestock operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within teams.
- A proactive and motivated individual, keen to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
