Overview

Join our vibrant team as a Nursery Assistant at Kids Planet Leeds Oxford Place, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young children to learn and grow. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic early childhood setting, supporting children's development through playful learning and caring interactions. As a valued team member, you will contribute to the positive atmosphere that makes our nursery a home away from home for children and their families. This position is paid, recognizing the importance of every role in delivering exceptional childcare.

Responsibilities

Support the delivery of high-quality care and early childhood education tailored to each child's individual needs
Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills
Foster a safe, welcoming environment by maintaining cleanliness, safety protocols, and hygiene standards
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure consistent care and support
Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure their safety at all times
Support management in daily operational tasks such as record keeping, attendance tracking, and preparing learning materials
Contribute positively to team meetings and ongoing training sessions to enhance childcare practices

Skills

Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting is desirable but not required.
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development stages
Excellent communication skills in English to interact confidently with children, parents, and colleagues
Demonstrated management and leadership qualities when supporting team activities or supervising children
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment
Valid driving license is desirable for supporting flexible transportation needs or off-site activities
Passionate about childcare with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on children's lives
