Full job description

About the Role

As our Assistant Supervisor, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring smooth service, high standards, and a positive team environment.

You’ll work closely with management to oversee operations, lead shifts, and help maintain the welcoming atmosphere our customers love.

Key Responsibilities

Leading and supervising the team during shifts
Supporting daily café operations and service flow
Preparing high-quality coffees, matcha, and speciality drinks
Maintaining excellent barista standards and drink consistency
Managing stock ordering and inventory control
Monitoring stock levels and reducing wastage
Training and supporting junior team members
Handling customer queries and ensuring excellent customer service
Opening and closing procedures
Maintaining cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene standards
Assisting with rota coordination and shift organisation

Essential Requirements

Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a café, coffee shop, or hospitality setting
Strong barista skills with experience using commercial coffee machines
Experience with stock ordering and stock management
Previous experience supervising, motivating, and supporting team members
Confident working in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Reliable, proactive, and organised
Passion for hospitality and creating great customer experiences.

Desirable

Experience with brunch service
Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety procedures
Experience in a high-volume café environment.
