Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to lead our veterinary team. The successful candidate will oversee daily clinical operations, support veterinary practitioners, and ensure the highest standards of animal care and client service. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the veterinary nursing team, ensuring efficient daily operations.
- Assist veterinarians during consultations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures.
- Manage laboratory tasks including sample collection, analysis, and record keeping.
- Oversee patient care, including administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure all clinical equipment is properly maintained, sterilised, and calibrated.
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff members to promote professional development.
- Liaise with pet owners regarding treatment plans, post-operative care, and general advice.
- Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and animal welfare within the practice.
Skills
- Proven veterinary experience with a comprehensive understanding of clinical procedures.
- Laboratory experience is highly desirable to support diagnostic processes.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills to coordinate multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Compassionate approach towards animals and their owners with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
