Full job description

Job Overview

We are looking for a professional, reliable and vigilant security officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, customers and property. Duties will include regular patrols, access control, monitoring site activity, responding to incidents and emergencies, completing accurate reports, and providing a professional customer-focused security service. Applicants must have a valid SIA licence, good communication skills, a professional appearance and the ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging situations.

Duties

Conduct regular security patrols of the premises.
Monitor access and control entry and exit points.
Ensure the safety and security of staff, visitors and property.
Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies and security concerns.
Monitor CCTV and other security systems where required.
Maintain accurate incident reports and daily occurrence logs.
Challenge unauthorised persons professionally and appropriately.
Carry out site opening and locking procedures where required.
Report hazards, suspicious activity and security breaches.
Assist with emergency and evacuation procedures.
Provide professional customer service to clients and visitors.
Follow Assignment Instructions and company security procedures.
Comply with health & safety requirements and site policies.
Liaise with management, emergency services and other security personnel when required.
Maintain a professional appearance and high standard of conduct at all times.

Experience

Previous experience in the security industry preferred.
Experience in guarding, patrolling and access control.
Experience managing entry, queues and crowd control.
Experience dealing with incidents, conflict and challenging situations.
Strong customer service and communication experience.
Experience completing incident reports and occurrence logs.
CCTV monitoring experience is desirable.
Experience working independently and as part of a security team.
Ability to remain calm, professional and confident under pressure.
Experience in door supervision, hospitality, hotels, event security, corporate, retail, construction, hospitality or event security is advantageous.
