ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a committed HE Technical Demonstrator to support the effective delivery of College services and priorities.
This is a part-time role which is term-time only and 4 days per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will:
- Provide practical demonstrations and technical support for Creative Arts and Design degree courses, including printmaking and digital print equipment.
- Assist academic staff in preparing and delivering technical workshops and practical sessions, ensuring smooth operation and safety compliance.
- Maintain and troubleshoot technical equipment, including digital print, printmaking and photographic equipment.
- Support students by offering guidance and advice on technical processes and best practices during practical sessions.
- Ensure all technical resources are well-organised, maintained, and updated according to curriculum needs and technological advancements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching resources and learning environments.
- Adhere to all college policies, including health and safety, safeguarding, and equality and diversity.
- Carry out duties in line with college policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Relevant experience in Creative Arts and Design technical roles, ideally within an educational setting.
- Strong practical knowledge of digital print and printmaking equipment such as laser cutting, risograph, wide format and 3D printing, screen and intaglio printmaking and good working knowledge of editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and motivate students.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Awareness of health and safety regulations related to digital print and printmaking equipment and studio environments.
- A relevant qualification in a Creative Arts and Design discipline is essential.
