Job Overview

Join us as a Kitchen Team Leader at The Prince Rupert in Newark on Trent and be a vital part of creating delicious, high-quality meals in a traditional, town centre English pub

In this role, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests every day. This position requires someone with clear communication and strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working as part of a team in a busy kitchen.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
Support cooking processes by following safety and quality guidelines to ensure food is prepared efficiently and safely
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety standards
Help with inventory management by organizing ingredients and supplies in the kitchen area
Follow proper food safety procedures, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
Support serving staff by preparing orders for delivery or presentation as needed
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of meals during busy service periods

Skills

Experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen environment
Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and kitchen operations
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude and willingness to progress and lead a team
Basic familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in food service
Prior ecperience in a busy pub or restaurant kitchen.
