Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and versatile individual to join our team as a Barista and all-rounder. This role involves preparing high-quality beverages, providing excellent customer service, and supporting various operational tasks within our café. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, food safety, and creating a welcoming environment for customers. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an engaging work environment where you can develop your skills in hospitality and food service.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and other drinks to high standards
Assist customers with their orders, offering friendly and efficient service
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment
Support food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as needed
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
Manage cash register operations, including handling payments accurately using basic maths skills
Restock supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth daily operations
Assist with general cleaning duties to uphold health and safety standards
Contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for all customers

Experience

Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of food safety procedures is desirable
Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is advantageous
Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions accurately
Good time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
