Everwell Pet Care is preparing to launch a trusted in-home pet care service across Hertfordshire and North London.
We are looking for reliable, responsible pet sitters and dog walkers to join our approved sitter network.
Our service is aimed at pet owners who prefer their pets to stay safe and comfortable at home while they are away. Services may include live in pet sitting for up to 2-4 weeks at a time, pet home visits, dog walks, cat visits and small animal care.
This role may suit retired people, remote workers, mature students, existing dog walkers, experienced pet owners, animal care workers, or anyone with genuine experience caring for pets.
About the work
This is contractor-based flexible work.
Approved sitters will receive available jobs by email and can choose which jobs they would like to be considered for. Work is not guaranteed, and earnings will depend on your availability, location, accepted bookings and the type of care provided.
Services may include
- Live-in pet sitting in the owner’s home
- Pet home visits
- Dog walks
- Cat visits
- Small animal care
- Feeding, water changes and basic pet care
- Sending updates to owners
- Following written care instructions
- Keeping keys and access details secure
Responsibilities
You may be asked to:
- Care for pets safely and responsibly
- Follow owner instructions closely
- Feed pets and refresh water
- Walk dogs where agreed
- Provide companionship and basic care
- Send updates and photos during bookings
- Respect client homes
- Keep client information private
- Report any issues quickly
- Act calmly and sensibly around pets
What we are looking for

- Able to respond to messages promptly
Requirements
Applicants must
- Have genuine experience caring for pets
- Be willing to provide references
- Be willing to complete a Basic DBS check before taking paid bookings
- Be comfortable working as an independent contractor
- Be able to follow written care instructions
- Be comfortable sending owner updates during bookings
Access to a car is preferred, especially for home visits and live-in pet sitting, but it may not be needed for every booking.

- Radlett
- Barnet
- Finchley
- Mill Hill
- Potters Bar
- Hadley Wood
- Surrounding Hertfordshire and North London areas

Pay
Indicative rates include:
- Dog walks: from £12–£18 per walk
- Pet visits: from £14–£22 per visit
- Live-in pet sitting: from £40–£85 per day
Annual earnings may range from £12,000–£28,000, depending on your availability, location, service type and accepted bookings.
This is flexible contractor work, so work volume and earnings are not guaranteed.
Contractor status
This is not an employed role.
Approved sitters work as independent contractors. You are free to choose which available jobs you would like to be considered for. You will be responsible for your own tax position and any relevant self-employed records.

Approved sitters may need to complete:
- Application form
- Short phone or video call
- Reference checks
- Basic DBS check
- ID check
- Sitter agreement
- Suitability review
