Full job description

Job Overview
As a Nursery Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience working with children while studying towards a nationally recognized childcare qualification (such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years Education). You will assist in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children, helping with daily activities, and learning essential childcare skills from experienced practitioners.

Duties

Support the nursery team in delivering high-quality early years education and care.
Assist in planning and engaging children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Support children with personal care needs, including feeding and toileting.
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming nursery environment.
Work towards completing your apprenticeship qualification with guidance from mentors and trainers

Skills

A strong foundation in childcare principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
Basic understanding of early childhood education frameworks.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks within a busy nursery setting.
Experience working with children is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for working with young learners is key.
A willingness to learn leadership skills as part of your professional development.
A valid driving licence may be beneficial for transport-related duties.
