Full job description

We have a great opportunity for you to join our friendly team at Roof Top Cafe in Dixons Department Store, Whitehaven. The hours are between 28 and 35 per week and you will be working 5 days per week which will include Saturdays.

There is no evening working and you will get your Sundays off (except in December when the cafe does open on Sundays for festive feasts!).

Your job will be to:

Greet customers.
Take customer orders.
Take payments.
Make teas and coffees.
Serve food.
Clear tables.
Mop floors and keep surfaces clean.
Help with the counter and cabinet displays.

The cafe seats 120 customers and can get pretty busy at times, so the ideal candidate will be someone who can “keep calm and carry on”.

There is a good customer mix of regular and new and it will be your job to ensure that each one of them has a great experience.

You will be working with a lovely team of people!

About you

If you have great customer service skills and love working with people, then this could be the ideal job for you.

The ideal person for this job:

Great customer service skills.
Enjoys working with people.
Cafe or restaurant experience preferred but not essential.
Able to work during the day 28 to 35 hours per week (including Saturdays).
Clean and presentable.
Good communication skills.
A team player.

Salary and benefits

Starting wage of £12.75 per hour.
Statutory pension scheme.

28 days’ holiday per year – pro rata.
