Full job description

We are looking for new Patient Experience Volunteers to join our team in Whitehaven!

Gathering patient and or carer feedback is a top priority for North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Through volunteering in this role, you will support us to find out the views and opinions of people using our services - what we are doing well and what we could do better.
Assist in the completion of patient surveys using an iPad or paper survey to capture patient feedback from wards and departments across the Trust.
To be a volunteer, you need to be over 18 years of age and living within the local Cumberland area

You have the ability to communication with all groups of people

Friendly, caring and approachable personality

Helpful, have patience and have an accommodating manner

Sensitive, compassionate and tactful nature

Able to work on own or part of a team

Can provide one morning or afternoon per week

Speaking to patients in the trust’s inpatient ward and outpatients areas asking if they would like to give their feedback by completing the relevant survey

Supporting patients to complete the relevant survey.

Collecting completed surveys from inpatients wards and outpatients areas.

Reviewing patient information displayed on inpatient wards and outpatient areas and removing out of date information.

Disclosure and Barring Service:
On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:
youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure

the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

These bodies can advise you on what you are legally required to declare and may also be able to advise you on how you can disclose criminal record information to a prospective employer and your legal rights when doing so.
