Finance Officer (Part-Time, Flexible Hours)

Hours: Negotiable, minimum 3 days (or equivalent) per week

AKS Lytham is a thriving independent school committed to providing an outstanding education within a supportive and nurturing environment. We are seeking an organised, proactive and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our professional support team.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the school's day-to-day financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for flexible working arrangements within a rewarding educational setting.
We are particularly interested in candidates who hold, or are working towards, a recognised finance qualification such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, although relevant experience will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities

Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments.
- Managing fee billing, receipts and credit control.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations.
- Supporting payroll administration.
- Maintaining the school's accounting systems and records.
- Supporting the annual audit and year-end processes.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Previous experience in a finance or accounts role.
- A recognised finance qualification (AAT preferred) or relevant equivalent experience.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Good IT skills, including Excel and finance systems.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team.
Experience within a school or educational environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
