Summary

Job Purpose

The Order Processor is responsible for accurately processing customer orders from receipt through to delivery, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient communication between customers, production, purchasing, and dispatch. The role requires maintaining accurate records within Sage 200, monitoring order progress, and supporting the smooth operation of the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

Process customer sales orders accurately using Sage 200.
Verify customer order details, pricing, product specifications, and delivery requirements.
Liaise with customers regarding order confirmations, delivery dates, and order queries.
Coordinate with the production team to ensure manufacturing schedules meet customer deadlines.
Work closely with Purchasing to ensure materials are available for production.
Monitor order progress from order entry through production and dispatch.
Produce quotations, order acknowledgements, delivery notes, and invoices using Sage 200.
Update customer records and maintain accurate data within the ERP system.
Resolve customer issues relating to orders, deliveries, shortages, or product availability.
Communicate with the warehouse and dispatch teams regarding shipping priorities.
Monitor stock availability and advise customers of lead times where necessary.
Assist in forecasting customer demand by highlighting recurring order patterns.
Ensure all documentation complies with company procedures and quality standards.
Support month-end administration and reporting as required.
Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information.

Key Skills and ExperienceEssential

Previous experience in an order processing, sales administration, or customer service role within a manufacturing environment.
Experience using Sage 200 ERP software.
Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Ability to work effectively within a busy office environment.

Desirable

Understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning.
Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Knowledge of stock control and inventory management.
Experience producing management or sales reports.

GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
Business Administration qualification (desirable).
