We have an exciting opportunity to join our team managing coastal flood and erosion risk on the south coast.
Coastal Partners provides a Coastal Risk Management Service to Havant Borough Council, Portsmouth City Council, Gosport Borough Council, Fareham Borough Council and Chichester District Council improving community resilience, and enhancing the natural environment in response to the risks from flooding and coastal erosion. This area includes three major harbours of significant environmental importance and over 246km of coastline.
The Role
This is a new and exciting opportunity for a Digital Transformation and Data Officer in our service. This new post will lead digital organisational change, leveraging technology, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to optimise business processes. The role will be responsible for the management of all data and IT solutions, including GIS across multiple platforms, data storage, database development and management, technical data analysis, interpretation of data, mapping and creating end user products.
A substantial part of this role will be to help us understand what we don’t know and what we need to do to improve the way our organisation functions.
Responsibilities will include work packages such as the following:

Lead a review of our data and IT requirements across our service and recommend and implement solutions.

Management of IT, data storage and programme licences.

Helping us develop new business systems, finance reporting systems, dashboards and strategic tools to futureproof our service.

Creating online collaborative workspaces for projects including questionnaires, story maps and innovative stakeholder engagement tools.

Help us develop our GIS project mapping and undertake advanced data analysis.

Creating and maintaining a new GIS based asset inspection database - a system to help us collect in the field coastal asset data and help us understand and visualise it.

Streamlining parts of our Planning and Development Management response process including creating spatial mapping and automated response templates.

Experience
-
A degree and / or a related industry recognised qualification and / or equivalent extensive experience in a relevant role.
-
Extensive skills and experience in the use of IT applications and data including GIS software packages and databases.
-
Experience of overseeing and managing organisational data management and business processes.
-
Experience of working in the environmental and place-based space with the ability to solve complex issues with the use of data.
-
Experience of delivering organisational change and strategy in relation to data management, analysis, transformation, and use.

This role is advertised full-time 37 hours per week, although we do everything we can to accommodate flexible working and would consider part time hours. If this is an option you’d like to explore, please let us know how many hours you are looking for in your application.
