Role Information
Responsible to: Head of Curriculum & Operational Delivery
Direct reports: Freelance Trainers / Programme Coordinator / Programme Administrator
Location: Chichester with hybrid working and travel as required
The Role
Responsible for leading the quality, consistency and effectiveness of all training delivery across ETS programmes.
Course Mobilisation Oversight
· Accountable for successful mobilisation, delivery and close down of all ETS training courses
· Manage Programme Coordinator, overseeing logistical tasks and delivery planning
· Escalate mobilisation risks and implement mitigating actions
· Monitor and work towards training KPIs
· Sign off delivery readiness to provide a smooth operation
· Ensure trainers are prepared and delivery ready for every course
· Review venue and equipment requirements to ensure an excellent service is maintained
Leadership & Management
· Lead, motivate and support freelance trainers to provide excellent service delivery
· Line manage the Programme Coordinator and provide support, direction and accountability for course mobilisation, learner onboarding and programme administration
· Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews with the Programme Coordinator & Administrator
· Manage trainer capacity planning to ensure sufficient delivery resource is available across all contracts
· Monitor trainer utilisation and deployment across programmes
· Ensure effective collaboration between delivery, administration and employment functions.
· Recruit and induct new trainers & support succession planning to reduce trainer dependency risks
· Manage trainer performance and expectations
· Lead trainer CPD activities
· Coordinate standardisation meetings
Curriculum & Delivery
· Lead operational delivery of all programmes
· Monitor programme performance against attendance, achievement and progression KPIs
· Support / lead on curriculum design and review
· Ensure delivery meets internal quality standards, and awarding body requirements
· Ensure delivery is Ofsted-reaady
· Regularly review and update curriculum against learner feedback, outcomes data and current best practice
· Work with employers to ensure curriculum remains aligned to labour market needs
· Monitor achievement and retention
· Ensure programmes meet commissioner and contractual requirements
· Promote employer led learning
· Support learner progression outcomes
Teaching, Learning & Assessment
· Conduct observations providing coaching and feedback for the training team
· Monitor learner progress
· Support & lead quality improvement actions
· Ensure robust assessment practices are in place in line with ETS requirements
· Promote sharing best practice across the delivery team
Teaching Resources
· Develop trainer resources to support learners
· Develop & maintain training materials to provide excellent resources to support learners
· Review curriculum content with the Quality Improvement Team
· Develop and maintain excellent teaching resources to support the learning
Learner Experience
· Monitor learner attendance to ensure excellent retention and outcomes
· Review learner feedback to develop service delivery where required
· Improve learner satisfaction through developing feedback into action
· Support progression into employment by collaborating with the Employment team
· Promote inclusive learning environments throughout all service delivery
Quality, Safeguarding & Compliance
· Contribution to self-assessment and QIP
· Liaison with AOs for registrations, EQA visits, certification
· Promote safeguarding culture throughout all service delivery
· Support quality assurance activity across all service delivery
· Ensure compliance requirements are met across all service delivery
· Contribute to Ofsted readiness
Risk & Continuous Improvement
· Analyse performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
· Support contract performance reviews and commissioner meetings
· Identify delivery risks and take action to improve practice
· Implement quality improvement plans to enhance practice
· Support business growth by collaboration with the Business Development team
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives with the support of the Quality Improvement team
· Promote innovation and best practice across service delivery
Essential Criteria
- Experience managing trainers and supporting trainer performance.
- Adult learning and skills sector experience
- Experience carrying out Teaching, Learning and Assessment (TLA) observations.
- Quality improvement experience within an education or training environment.
- Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable Criteria
- Teaching qualification at Level 5 or above.
- Experience working within a training provider, college or adult education environment.
- Assessor qualification (Level 3 or Level 4), or willingness to work towards Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification, or willingness to work towards.
- Experience of DWP-funded programmes.
- Experience of prison education or the criminal justice sector.
- Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
Professional Development Requirements
- Candidates who do not already hold a recognised Assessor Qualification (Level 3 or Level 4) and/or an Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification will be expected to work towards these qualifications, with a target of achieving both within 12–18 months of appointment.
- A Level 5 teaching qualification is desirable. Where the successful candidate does not currently hold a Level 5 teaching qualification, they will be expected to demonstrate the capability to undertake Teaching, Learning and Assessment (TLA) observations and be willing to work towards relevant professional development where required.
Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
