Our charity was founded in 1988 and we were one of the pioneers of the ‘Care in the Community’ agenda, enabling people to move out of long-stay institutions and live more fulfilling lives.
Since then, we’ve remained leaders in social care, providing bespoke support to thousands across the UK. Today, we support more than 2,600 people and employ 6,600 caring and committed colleagues across England and Scotland.

- We are both mobile and being independent is very important to us.
- We have different challenges in our lives which include learning disabilities, mental health, epilepsy, and diabetes. We have a staff team who are all trained and familiar with supporting people with these needs.
- We do need encouragement from time to time and love to have conversations with out staff team and meet new people.
- We are very proud of the home we live in. We like to keep it clean, tidy and organised.
- We enjoy going on day trips out to the Odeon cinema at The Silverlink to watch films. We love Disney films in particular.
- We love to go to the local pubs and restaurants for meals. One of our favourites is Fox Hunters, the food there is amazing!
- We enjoy music, especially pop music and attending the Lindisfarne Disco every Friday night in Wallsend.
- We are fun, loving, kind, caring and respectful of each other’s personal space.
- We have a minimum of 1 member of our team supporting us as all times. On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday we have 2 team members supporting us so that we can each do our own 1-1 activities.
- Our staff work a range of shifts throughout the week, including a sleep-in shift.
To support us to have the best lives possible our team have specialist training in epilepsy, diabetes and learning disabilities
