Ambulance Care Assistant – Patient Transport (Chester)

£13 per hour | Flexible Shifts | Immediate Start

Welcome to Halo! We are recruiting Ambulance Care Assistants (ACA) to join our Patient Transport Service from our base in Chester . This role is ideal for healthcare assistants, support workers, care assistants, or anyone with a caring, professional approach looking for a rewarding career in the ambulance service.

You’ll be responsible for supporting patients during non-emergency patient transport, ensuring every journey is safe, dignified, and compassionate.

Key Details

Job title: Ambulance Care Assistant / Patient Transport Driver
Location: Chester, Cheshire West & surrounding areas
Pay rate: £13 per hour
Hours: Flexible shifts
Start: Immediate start once compliant

Key Responsibilities

Assist patients to and from medical appointments
Provide reassurance and basic patient care during transport
Safely load and unload patients using appropriate equipment
Work as part of a professional patient transport crew
Maintain high standards of patient dignity and safety
Complete basic documentation as required

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for reliable, caring individuals who want to work in patient transport services and make a real difference.

Essential:

Full UK Manual Driving Licence with experience driving ambulances or vans
First Aid Certificate (or FREC3)
Caring and professional attitude
Good communication skills
Ability to work flexible shifts across a 7 day rota
Physically able to assist patients

Desirable (not essential):

Experience as an Ambulance Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Assistant
Previous NHS or private patient transport experience
