Your Role
In this role, you’ll lead one of our Area Teams and help shape the future of development across Stockport. You’ll guide and support a talented group of planners, making sure they feel confident, motivated and equipped to deliver a brilliant service for our residents and partners.
Alongside your leadership duties, you’ll take on a small number of highprofile or sensitive applications, offering your expertise where it matters most. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Council, provide clear professional advice, and help us deliver development that genuinely benefits our communities. It’s a role with real influence and real purpose.
About You
You’re someone who cares about planning, people and making a positive difference. With experience in a Local Planning Authority, you feel confident guiding others, handling complex cases and offering clear, balanced advice. You enjoy supporting colleagues, sharing your knowledge and creating a team environment where everyone feels valued and able to do their best work. You communicate openly, build strong relationships and stay calm when things get busy.
