PRODUCT/STOCK CONTROLLER
1. POSITION
This position is based at the location defined in your contract of employment and you will report to Distribution Manager or Site & Operations Manager. You may be required, however, to work at other local depots from time to time, as required, to meet the needs of the business.
2. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

· To assist the Distribution Manager or Site & Operations Manager in the smooth day to day running of all stock matters.
3. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Use stocks to accurately order milk products from the Dairy in a timely manner.
· Take telephone (answer machine) messages from BMB’s and Depots and process orders, delivery notes and load sheets.
· To undertake daily stock checks reporting shortages and wastage to Distribution Manager.
· Rotate stocks of raw materials and finished stocks in the store to ensure their correct usage.
· To communicate competently on the telephone and in person with customers, suppliers, staff and directors, in a friendly, courteous and professional manner and communicate calls or information onwards to the relevant person.
· To ensure the efficient and effective working of the administration of the Company with emphasis on the timely, accurate and comprehensive provision of financial and management information.
· To ensure the accurate entry and maintenance of data on the Company’s in house computer systems and ledgers and check the information outputs of these systems and ledgers for accuracy and meaning by way of reconciliations and cross checks.
· Maintain customer accounts and delivery instructions on handhelds used by Drivers.
· Manage the filing of information in an ordered and logical fashion.
· Highlight any issues of concern financial or otherwise to the Distribution Manager or Site & Operations Manager when they arise.
· To safeguard the information and assets of the Company by due regard for security of its cash and cash equivalent assets, premises, computer and filing systems.
· To assist the Distribution Manager, Site & Operations Manager, Financial Director, and other Directors of the Company in the performance of their duties in any way which they may deem necessary.
4. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
· Able to work alone (very early starts) and use own initiative.
· Product knowledge and pallet/trolley loading configurations.
· Coding knowledge and stock rotation regimes.
· Customer knowledge re products and coding.
· Vehicle safe loading capacities.
· Loading sequences of vehicles.
· Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations.
· Manual handling training.
· Knowledge and awareness of company policies and procedures.
· Good communication skills.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in an office environment.
· Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including English and Maths.
· Excellent numeracy and keyboard skills.
· Ability to talk to customers confidently and competently on the telephone.

Salary: £32,797.44
Hours of work
Monday to Saturday 8.00a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
