Empower Young People Towards Independence – Team leader Support Worker role for 16+ Supported Accommodation

£32,692 - £34.4952 per year inclusive of sleep pay at £75 per sleep
Full time Role including sleep ins
2 on 4 off Shift pattern for a good work life balance
Up to 31 days annual leave a year

We’re looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our supported accommodation team and guide young people through this exciting and sometimes challenging stage of life.

About Us

At Fairview Care & Support, we specialise in providing high-quality supported accommodation for young people aged 16+. Our services are designed for those leaving care, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC), and other vulnerable young people who need a safe, structured environment where they can gain the skills and confidence to live independently.

Our approach is based on empowerment, respect, and growth. We don’t just provide housing – we provide opportunities, encouragement, and practical life skills support. Whether it’s budgeting, cooking, attending education or work, or simply learning to navigate adulthood, we’re here to guide young people every step of the way.

Our goal is to help every young person transition into a successful and sustainable independent future while staying true to our commitment to kindness, respect, and putting people first.

What You’ll Do

Provide leadership and day-to-day oversight of the home, ensuring a safe, supportive, and well-structured environment for young people and staff.
Support, guide, and supervise the team to deliver high-quality practical, emotional, and social support to young people living in supported accommodation.
Work closely with management to ensure the service operates effectively and consistently delivers the best possible outcomes for young people.
Lead by example, building positive, trusting relationships with young people while acting as a mentor and role model to both staff and residents.
Oversee the development of young people’s life skills, including budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and managing appointments, promoting independence and responsibility.
Support staff in encouraging young people to engage with education, training, and employment opportunities.
Promote independence, personal growth, and resilience for young people within a safe and structured environment.
Monitor the quality of support provided, offering guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback to team members.
Ensure accurate record keeping, contribute to support plans and risk assessments, and maintain excellent communication with management, colleagues, and external professionals.
Take responsibility for safeguarding practices within the home, ensuring policies, procedures, and statutory requirements are followed at all times.
Support rota management, shift coordination, and the smooth daily running of the service.

Development & Training

Comprehensive induction and ongoing leadership training to develop your skills.
Monthly supervision and regular reflective practice sessions.

What We’re Looking For

A genuine passion for empowering young people to achieve independence.
Experience supporting vulnerable young people and an understanding of the challenges faced by care leavers.
Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team while maintaining positive professional relationships.
Strong communication, organisational, and problem solving skills.
Confidence in decision-making and managing day-to-day operational challenges.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins when required.
Must be 21+ due to regulations around working with young people in supported accommodation.
A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, and maintaining professional boundaries.
A Level 3 qualification (or above) in working with children and young people or a related field is preferred but not essential. If not, don’t worry life experience can be its own level of qualification.
